Sample Preparation & Handling
Quality standards from the start
Metabolon’s commitment to the success of your study is centered on our proven sample preparation and handling methods. Our experience protecting the integrity of metabolite samples for the most accurate and reproducible results is unmatched and led to the development of the Metabolon Study Success Sample Handling Kit to support your collection, shipping, traceability and, ultimately, quality results for your study.

We have developed robust, standardized methods for working with a range of sample matrices including human, animal, insect and plant.

When we receive samples, they are immediately logged into our customized laboratory information management system (mLIMS™) supporting traceability, assured sample quality and quick turnaround.
Samples are stored in carefully monitored, temperature-controlled freezers, backed by generators, until they are ready for processing in our labs.
Our hyper-focus on quality control means that approximately 20 percent of received samples are reserved for quality control. Samples are processed in our labs that are ISO 9001:2015 certified for analytical and diagnostic testing of biological specimens, certified by CLIA and accredited by the College of American Pathologists for diagnostic testing on human specimens. Additionally, Metabolon has a New York State Department of Health Clinical Laboratory permit to perform certain clinical metabolomics testing.
