Splash & Ripple: A network-based framework linking untargeted metabolomics to candidate genes through curated metabolite-protein biology
Untargeted metabolomics can yield man significant compounds with no clear view of which protein(s) produced them. Enrichment names categories, not proteins; correlation stays inside the measured omic; manual interpretation does reach proteins, but is time-consuming and subject to bias.
Splash & Ripple returns a ranked, evidence-linked candidate-gene table from a perturbed metabolite profile. It acts as an informed search-space reducer to developer mechanistic hypotheses and follow-up experiments.
