Core Technology
Metabolon has developed and patented technology and methodologies that simultaneously
detect and quantify all of the small molecules present in complex biological specimens.
This is extremely important because these small molecules represent the products

One of the major advantages of this approach is the vast amount of biochemical information
that has been assembled from 100 years of biochemical research. Leveraging this
knowledge base, we can more easily discover biochemical biomarkers that can be used

Metabolon’s fee-for-service business is focused on product-based global biochemical
profiling solutions provided to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as well
as funded government and academic institutions engaged in product development activities.
We provide comprehensive biochemical profiling for a wide variety of applications,
including drug safety and efficacy studies, bioprocess optimization and consumer
product development. We are currently working with 14 of the top 15 pharmaceutical

Diagnostic Products Business
Built upon our core biomarker discovery engine, Metabolon is focused on developing,
validating and marketing molecular diagnostic assays for the detection and monitoring
of disease based in part upon biomarkers discovered from its collaborative and fee-for-service
studies. These novel biochemical biomarkers provide the basis for its diagnostic
products.
To develop innovative and relevant molecular diagnostic assays, Metabolon focuses
biomarker discovery, targeted assay development and clinical validation studies
in diseases where treatment costs and costs associated with treatment failure are
high and current diagnostic methods are expensive, invasive or lack predictive power
for accurate diagnosis, prognosis or therapeutic monitoring of disease.
