REVENUE RECOGNITION MANAGER
Job Code # 1204

Metabolon is seeking a Revenue Recognition Manager to be an integral member of our finance department. This position has no direct reports at this time, but will be responsible for managing the activities of our revenue recognition and revenue reporting process and working with other departmental managers to manage their personnel and equipment resources.

Responsibilities

Partner with the members of finance and non-financial operational departments to:

meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
meet contractual requirements and other customer expectations
maximize efficiencies using available internal personnel and equipment resources

Assist the CFO and Director of Finance to further develop and maintain periodic and dashboard reporting of key performance metrics such as average selling price, average contract price, average # of days per cost of services phase, etc. including automation of these reports wherever possible
Work with members of our sales, operational and finance departments to prepare and maintain forward-looking revenue forecasts including current-year quarterly and rolling twelve-month forecasts
Utilize forecasts to assist in forward-looking personnel and equipment resource planning for operational cost of services departments
Assist the CFO and Director of Finance to document revenue recognition processes and develop a system of internal controls addressing key control risk in our services and diagnostics business
Assist the CFO and Director of Finance in training, managing and evaluating non-financial personnel on compliance with those internal controls
Work with members of the finance team to monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances for active projects to ensure collectability prior to providing services
Maintain approximately 20% - 40% of capacity to assist the finance department in other activities as needed. Activities likely to include public company benchmarking for accounting, finance and operations.

Qualifications

6+ years career accounting experience, preferably within the life sciences industry
BS Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA preferred.
Strong and effective communication, partnering and influencing skills - this position requires significant interaction with non-financial personnel including; PhD scientists, laboratory technicians and statisticians
Strong knowledge of GAAP, business processes and internal controls
Experience in continuous periodic reporting environment – e.g. public company or subsidiary
Experience working in a SOX or other internal control environment
Excellent presentation skills including experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Strong work ethic - independently driven with effective time management skills
Experience using Great Plains Dynamics is preferred

A/R COORDINATOR

Metabolon is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to be an integral member of our accounting team.

Responsibilities

Establishing and maintaining customer relationships
Processing of all accounts receivable invoices
Active management of outstanding accounts receivable balances including;
- Perform collections activities on aged receivables including contacting customers via phone and email
- Follow up on internal and external accounts receivable inquiries
- Provide proactive communications to revenue generating departments and sales team members to ensure collections prior to work being performed
Manage unbilled receivable balances to ensure timely invoicing upon achievement of milestones
Assist other members of the finance team to monitor significantly aged deferred revenue balances
Maintain accounts receivable filing system
Learn the responsibilities of and serve as an overflow backup to the A/P Analyst
Documentation of job responsibilities
Performance of internal controls
Other clerical duties as needed

Qualifications

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; Associates or BS Degree in Accounting is preferred
Excellent soft skills – this position requires significant interaction with customers, sales team members and other internal customer.
Previous experience in accounts receivable is preferred.
Experience using Great Plains Dynamics is preferred
Experience with SOX internal control environment is preferred
Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
Effective Time Management skills and independently driven
